About the Dominic Esangbedo Tertiary Education Scholarship
Late Dominic Ekodon Esangbedo
25th September 1939 – 3rd November 2003
This scholarship is established in memory of the Late Dominic Ekodon Esangbedo and to honor his unwavering commitment to education throughout his lifetime.
Dominic was one of the pioneer staff of Shell Petroleum Development Company, where he came face to face with the transformative power of STEM and how it can completely transform lives.
This profound experience led to his lifelong commitment to education, especially in the sciences, believing that knowledge and technical expertise were the keys to personal and national development.

Empowering Futures through STEM Education
This scholarship provides financial assistance to eligible undergraduate and HND students who demonstrate academic excellence and are committed to contributing to their communities through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This program is exclusively for undergraduate studies.
Category 1: Igueben LGA
Indigenes of Igueben Local Government Area
- Must be an indigene of Igueben LGA, Edo State
- Enrolled in STEM program at public institution in Edo State
- Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5 on 5.0 scale
- Female students and persons from vulnerable groups are strongly encouraged to apply
Category 2: Other Edo LGAs
Indigenes of Other Edo State LGAs (Excluding Igueben)
- Must be an indigene of other LGAs in Edo State
- Enrolled in STEM program at public institution in Edo State
- Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on 5.0 scale
- Female students and persons from vulnerable groups are strongly encouraged to apply
